God, the shuffle-walk. I get a feeling Miyami is still fairly early in her transition, because struggling to "walk like a girl" is something very much burned into my memory. I love the way you write her and Hinoka, they both have such distinct personalities that clash together beautifully.

Adorable!! Her hyperfixation is what helped her overcome the anxiety, that's so freakin' relatable! The only thing I will say is perhaps rephrase the "her condition" line to something more like "her situation"? Unless there's potentially more going on with her voice than I thought, but that was the only thing that caught my attention otherwise another great chapter!

As a trans woman who still struggles with a bit of dysphoria around my voice I was already immediately sold by the premise alone. But it was your writing that hooked me, you have a lot of skill when it comes to conveying the storm of thoughts in ones head when in anxious situations. Can't wait to read more!

Thanks again!! The "prologue" chapter came later in the conception of the story so this for awhile was the first chapter, so I do hope there isn't too much of a tonal whiplash. Jackson as a character is someone I put a lot of my teenage self into, that almost desperate need for meaning I feel a lot of us seek when we're younger. I'm glad you're rooting for him, he's been one of my favourite characters to write.

And we reach the end of this first major arc. I'm really happy with what I've written and hope everyone whose followed along has enjoyed it well. From now until May 7th when the contest ends I'm going to be doing some pretty intense editing of the story (including adding a prologue and a chapter or 2 to flesh out Jackson a bit more as I think he's a bit lighter on character stuff than Harper).
