I personally found the solution to be a bit straightforward, the clues from the previous chapter being directly signaled when the topic of the foreigners and the pack of tobacco came up. It's not a bad start to ease into mysteries, though I can't help but think some of those clues could have been buried slightly more, not directly focused upon by more so alluded to.

Still, I find it it a nice read, with all the interesting sidetracks you attempt to make, with Seishi's initial guess and his attempt to pin it on Kazami.
