This is really well-written! Space epics aren’t typically my cup of tea, but in truth, seeing the way you crafted this one from the beginning makes me want to continue and so I shall. I like the contrast between the ideologies of the main character and Valric, it paints a nice picture of their dynamic before we even get to see it in dialogue. Nicely done.

Dorian’s mom providing some sage advice, and she was far more understanding than I thought she’d be. I like the chemistry between Dorian and Avery, and the dialogue flowed really well. Can I take the end to mean that Avery has something to do with the gum? (albeit accidentily)

Elite lore-building. I knew the moment this prompt was announced that it was right in your wheel house 💪 You threw around a lot of terminology, but it didn’t get overwhelming. And the transition into the first scene with the cast was smooth. I can feel the vibes from the high tech city just by reading. 🌃 Might have to read the character profiles again just to burn their looks into my memory, but they all seem to serve a different role in combat. Can’t wait to see them in action next chapter.

Nice start here! I like the history lesson to set the stage, which is fine for a prologue. If it were a chapter 1, I would look for more characterization but I’m sure we’ll learn more about Kaori soon enough.
