Okay, I’m starting to get it now. I thought we were making jumps between the present and the past, but this is just a consequence of what happens in the prologue. 🙂‍↕️ Interestingly done. Though the paladins are fed well, their betters sure seem eager to throw them into the meat grinder without the full might of their core.

Sometimes we need a good crashout to get everything off our chests 😤😮‍💨 If this ever became an anime, I had an idea for a cute opening. Basically it’s Kite and Elora walking with Felix in the places they go, but at two different time periods. The end of the opening is the split frame merging together in the present with the three of them.

Elora hasn’t exactly given up on convincing Felix to get back to his heroing ways, but she at least understands that he wasn’t trying to be cruel, just that he forgot. 😓 Kite might poke fun at Felix’s denseness, but she might be pretty similar, but she’s only clueless when it comes to herself. Having a Champion Class mage around will certainly tip the scales a bit more in their favor. ⚖️ We’ll see if it’s enough.

Indeed, Crow’s shadow looms over the story without him having to appear much lately. 🐦‍⬛ It just goes to show the psychological wound he left in thrashing Felix the first time. 🤜 Our protagonist would certainly prefer to return to normalcy, but we’ll see if he’s awarded such an ideal scenario.

This chapter and arc were (wait for it) …INTERESTING. 🧐 And Flint really shined, despite his worries about maintaining the perfect hero image. I hope he realizes everything isn’t so black and white now. Sometimes you’ve got to make tough choices to survive, and for the people you care about to survive. Nicely done. 🗡️
