I guess it really is a reverse SAO in that way, like others have mentioned. Most of the real risk is on the non-hunters, but that’s where the immense pressure and reverence for the profession comes from. Next chapter we’ll get to see things really pop off.

Somehow I had a feeling Hideo would be Akai’s roommate. 😅 But at least he was treated to a luxurious meal before. I’ve had shrimp Mac and cheese, but lobster Mac and cheese sounds delicious in its own right. 🦞
Neat start to this one! I’m interested to see what kind of conflict that Akai is going to be stepping into. It sounds like the risk of an early death is somewhat high, though.

It surprised me to see that has dad had such a weeb-core name when he’s named something like “Avery”, the contrast was funny. But it makes sense since he identifies more with his mother. It’s really unfortunate that they can’t connect on an emotional level though. Nice chapter, and a pretty interesting twist at the end 🤖
Three lawsuits for the price of two!? And here I was thinking the rust bucket they bought was a great value. 💰 And yep, big bro is definitely about to wager all 27 stollars on black…
A Shiraito reference right out of the gate 😂 and Kaori is gonna give that robot a heart attack with her driving, but I respect her instincts at least. Like her, I also despise paperwork so I feel the pain here. Nice quick chapter!
I like Jessie’s carefree nature, even if it’s a defense mechanism. Your characters are pretty varied so far and I enjoyed their introductions. Reminds me of a group of folks you’d find in Final Fantasy with their different roles and personalities 😆 Dax reminds me of Sweet from Atlantis, if you’ve seen it.
This chapter gave me shades of Starlord stealing the power stone on Morag to “Come and get your love” 😂 in Guardians of the Galaxy. I even put the song on and it fit the vibe. Radio Jam is menace though to those rank and file soldier types 💀 Entertaining first chapter!
