I think you’re forgetting the secret third option. There’s malice, there’s foolishness, and then there’s carelessness (ignorance). It surprised me to see that has dad had such a weeb-core name when he’s named something like “Avery”, the contrast was funny. But it makes sense since he identifies more with his mother. It’s really unfortunate that they can’t connect on an emotional level though. Nice chapter, and a pretty interesting twist at the end 🤖
