If you mean in this story, yes, it was first time. He was until now known as just a mercenary who beat up Shujinko and tried to pick up Makiko for some fun. Also, I would not have my hopes for Makiko just yet. Let's just say, I am not so kind in my stories.

Hmmm, this sounds suspicious. Why all of a sudden Silas would turn into a good guy obeying the law and bringing murder to justice. He sounds in this chapter like a good detective. Unless this Ivy is fake or they in another made up world. Maybe Silas behind all of it. I mean he can do lots of things with that pen. If he can insta change places with a swipe of his pen, then making fake Ivy and film some fake footage would be easy. Or was it time for Ivy to leave the story?

You are almost right, almost guessed it right, but in this story only the main character has unbreakable plot armor, which of course he will lose it a bit later in the story. Right after he beats Adam, getting in replace one chance at saving the world.

At the beginning of the story Kaiju was just pretending to be nice and caring, working to make a cure. Now he is showing his true self, also being slowly consumed by crystallization really gets his mind spinning out of control. Basically, he is going nuts, slowly.

Oh yeah, I reduced the number of back stories, one of them was about Kaiju, going deep in his life problem and why he does things. And yes, just to give a bit of insight, he lost a few marbles after the whole mess he caused and even lost his arm witch by the way still regrew as a crystal limb. He only suppressing the infection with mass-produced compound 86 he stole from Helios that day, the cure for crystallization. As for why he came back was because he was feeling a twisted responsibly for creating Adam, what he did in Helios and wanted to finish with his own hands his creation and end thins whole mess. If that makes any sense.

I just hope thing won't go bad from here. Originally, at this point, I had few chapters cutting back the story back to the beginning again. The whole Kaiju point of view telling how he got in on a deal with Eel Schmuck, Conor and his team of mercenaries, the whole compound 86 switching with failed experiment to cause all of the mess in Helios but you gave me a good point, it was too much of flashbacks and will be boring. Instead, I fast forwarded to Kaiju coming back to finish what he started.
