I definitely see what you mean. As the author, I spend a lot of time planning both the characters and settings, so I might know things and details about them that the audience doesn't. Which means that If I don't give the audience time to savor over the details, they end up being rushed and uninteresting. I might feel something for special moments, but I have to somehow replicate that feeling in all of you, which takes time. (This is also something I was worried about in another book of mine. I have two characters that get introduced early, but don't get nearly as much development until later)
I definitely think you have a point in saying that this vol should have focused more on the high society, or generally just one setting. All the settings that show up do feel rushed as if we just need to get through them. I want to give you guys more time to mulch over the details, absorbing all you can about the world they're in.
This is a perfect critique to give me right now, since I'm in the very early stages of vol 3. I'm definitely going to take that vol slower and give more time for you guys to experience every aspect of something. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Honestly, I can't thank you enough for the critiques, and also reading the story too. I appreciate it very much and hope I can make this a story worth reading.
(RIP to the first comment that I made. Finger slid across my phone screen and jumped me to a different page 🙃)
