So first, I LOVE ALICE! 🤩 she was an awesome character and her personality and development is a type I very much enjoy seeing. Can't wait for more when you get around to Vol 2!
As for the other characters : All the characters present, minus Jason, were exactly what I expect from a MMORPG anarchy world. Only the craziest, scummiest, creepiest and creative types would appear, and I think all of those were handled well. It reminds me of the old days of playing Xbox Live, where anything goes, and you either take it or leave the game crying. 😅
Of course, we need more Sus Spaceman. If he isn't a main character in the next vol, I'll explode. Jk.
Jason was the most normal person in the story, completely going with the flow, yet still fighting against it. I think his Lore Master class is going to be really cool.
As for the setting : All I could think about was 2b2t server Lol. Just a total hellscape demolished by years of players not caring about anything. Very vivid. I'm not sure if the destruction makes the world feel empty or alive, I'm still trying to process that thought. Maybe I need to look at it as the apocalyptic landscape it is, considering it alive.
As for the plot : I'll need to see a Vol 2 to really give a review on this part. I don't feel like the story has concluded. Of course the romance between Alice and Jason was definitely a highlight for the end here, but it feels like something is definitely missing. And I mean, in the author note you acknowledge that many plot threads haven't concluded. But since this is my rating format, I have to add this part.
Overall, I thought this was a fun journey and can't wait for Vol 2!
