Even for a prolog, there is not much happening here. No mention of their powers or real look back at the antagonist... just some mild sparing and the emtnion that the antagonist is now in the deepest jail cell. But I guess most people skip prologs anyway.

You would have gotten me, had I not spoiled myself by reading the comments.

Cute ending. Interesting choice to switch to the counselor for the epilog. It kinda read like almost a semi third person pov for me. But yeah, I guess it works better to have a more objective narrator here.

Sad panda. I was refering to 'chickens with ties'.
Rubber chicken, eh?
Yeah, this chapter gave me some Kaguya vibes too.
That are some dangerous games the two of them are playing. Good thing this isn't a *cough* well dressed fowl *cough*.

Ah, yes, the classic backpack switch. Too bad the gun owner wasn't russian and it wasn't fired during the story, but I guess one can't have everything.
Was pretty enjoyable, and I might slowly warm up to present tense.

Sure, though I've lately been more of a binge reader, so I might take a while to pick it up.
Cute ending.
Yeah, definetely Babylon 5 vibes, even if you have not seen it.
You mean like every grunt in an evil Pokemon antagonist team after Red&Blue and before Sun&Moon?
Dunno if I buy the antagonists being shocked they're on the wrong side of history so to speak.
Without spoiling too much, there is a plot of a cyclical war being fought in the background, by first ones (races), using the younger races as their proxies. They are the Vorlons (Order) and Shadows (Chaos). Good show, even when the CGI etc. is pretty dated. Might get a remake some day.
The Babylon 5 approach. I approve.
