Yes! Mermaid generally means woman/girl. Merman means male. Merfolk is either.

But some people use "mermaid" to refer to the species, and say "male mermaid" anyway 😆

In this case, saying "mermaid woman" wasn't to specify the gender, but used as a more casual form of speech to refer to an unknown person.
"Who were you talking to?"
"Oh, I think that was the cashier woman from our neighborhood store."

Ahh yes!! Right now the ribbon-girl is pretty much human, next chapter I reveal her actual form which makes me think of her as non-human xD (the "little girl" appearance is just how she is choosing to present herself, so Claire and Roki will more easily be able to comprehend her.) I might have to draw Ribbon-chan (Fate-chan?) as a Shadow's House noble now, just to see how it would look...

As a small aside, my concept on names I realize is almost exact opposite to yours xD (not that that's a bad thing!) To me, the "nameless" characters are the ones who are legendary -- beings beyond the ability to define with a name 🌌

Kate is absolutely best girl, though Emilyko (or Emilico if you go by the anime subs) might be my favorite, just because I love characters that are warm like sunshine ❤️❤️❤️ (mainly because they are the exact opposite of me xD I strive to be more like Emilyko. That is always my life goal.)

Yes! In the USA, the drinking age is 21, which is why I made all my characters older than that! (Though I imagine Toren as being justttt barely 21 xD) In Japan, the drinking age is 20 I believe? So that is similar as well. The way most anime get around this though is by having high schoolers drink 'orange juice' and then just act silly for the joke of it 🤣

The real story relationships slowly start to appear 🤭 I'm going to move into more official relationship goals now, since this story has to move into a finale! Honestly, I would have loved to make this story a bit longer to give the romance more time, but not dragging things out is also a good idea too!
