Also, weird thought. Something like this happened to Arufa/Skyler's side. They saw that news report and had that event linger in their mind, and then it happens. Similar thing happened here, but more of like "imagine if x exists" before it actually exists. Just an observation and i wonder if that's just a coincidence or a clue 👀
The fact that there's also government agents with drip and shades approaching them and offering a choice instantly reminds me of the Matrix (blue pill/red pill is too iconic lmao) Im noticing a lot of similarities between those stories, like the difficult perception of realities and perhaps them being in a simulation. It would explain why the characters are all bound by those glowy wires in the covers and look different than in the story, bc that's what they actually look like irl, and their consciousness are trapped and got their memories messed up 🤔
