Thank you so much for your kind words! And thank you so much for reading! It was so great being able to see you get through it all (and I'm glad you didn't have to wait for the delays for each chapter getting published 🤭).

That's a great idea for the mystery tag. I think I'll do that! And based on the general reactions I've been getting, I may also drop the romance tag, since that one might not have come across as strongly as I planned for 😆. My plan here was "slow burn between Souma and Selina" but possibly in this context it isn't quite coming through as much as I'd have hoped... (too much slow, not enough burn bwahaha)...

Also, admittedly, possibly because everybody fell in love with Ami as soon as she appeared, and Selina came across as a little gremlin for the whole book 🤣

Well, either way, I am so glad you enjoyed it!!! Thank you so much for reading!! I do hope to clean this up, add some content, and put it out at some point, so when that happens I hope you'll try out the newer version too.

And of course the follow ups when I get to writing those!! 🙇‍♀️

This was the longest chapter in the whole thing (being the last real story chapter) so it was kind of like writing a double episode 🤣

Indeed, there is something video gamey about this world, but nobody seems to know what it is. Sus indeed. Nothing good can come of it.

And Ami.... Hopefully she doesn't lean on that skill too much in the future 😅

I wanted to orginally have them camping out for a while and kind of stumble across the entrance during that process... but time constraints being what they were this was all the lead-up I could budget for 🤭

My original idea was that levels in this story would be a solely administrative way of tracking which quests you're allowed to take on, and have no actual effect on stats - not that we've seen anybody level up yet to prove otherwise 🤭

Ah, I also wanted to bring this up but forgot. The leveling system was originally designed this way because of the title of the book, and it seemed weird for me to have a Level 2 Demon Lord in a book called working for a Level 1 Demon Lord.

BUT, I have gotten a lot of feedback (including from yourself!) that it’s a kind of too Hell Mode a type of system 😂 my current plan is, when I re-edit this for publication, ease up on the leveling and XP acquisition quite a bit. More than anything I think for litRPG if those numbers don’t go up it’s easy to get discouraged as a reader! 😂

Anyway, I hope you are able to check it out then! Also, as always thank you for your comments and reading. It’s been a huge help to get this written.

Now finally I can go and enjoy reading some of the other entries!!

I guess when I think about if this is romance or not… kind of depends how you define romance: as the main engine that drives the story, or as one of the elements of a story. I think there’s definitely room for both types but I absolutely wouldn’t be able to write the first type at any level of quality so here we are 😂

I’m so glad you enjoyed it anyway though! More than fitting into the competition perfectly, if you had fun reading it then I am more than happy with that 😊
