In a way, yes! There are a few different species/types in this universe, and I was gonna dump a whole thing here but there is a point later at which I plan to have Aderay finally, finally explain it, which I wish I could slip in earlier....

Heheh, hopefully it will not be confusing to find out. I still need to figure out how to actually make these first few chapters less confusing lol. Omniscient is a strange beast I'm unfamiliar with.
Nope! Some weird New Zealand colloquialisms might've slipped in, but it's meant to be more quasi-medieval something-something Oh, plus uh, the weird in-universe terms which I love to create for fantasy but have the growing, sinking feeling that nobody actually understands a word of despite my efforts to associate them with known things.... Does drakyr/drakyree sound like a dragon to you, or d'you think it'd just be easier replacing it with plain old "dragon"?

Oh, yeah, I guess he's still wearing a mask and all as well. I forgot about the identity thing somewhere in there lol, mb mb. I'm still kind of surprised there are enough superhumans to fill even all the paperwork and low-level jobs (and that they're put there instead of in a higher position), honestly, but I do remember it being mentioned Riku could take a job that isn't on the frontlines, so I guess some of them are superhuman at paperwork

Ooh, we getting somewhere. This is quite a large team, I feel like giving them actual names would help but descriptors work I guess. I do not envy you trying to keep track of them all, but you seem to be doing a good job so far. You might just have to be careful that they don't get lost or Riku winds up a side character in his own story, but you look like you know what you're doing, so I won't harp on there.
This is an intriguing scenario ngl. You'd think SACH would be more careful and not threaten to kill new students on their first day when these superpowered guys are supposed to be pretty rare, but hey, if they can heal like Riku seems to be able to (sometimes?) I guess they can take it. I'm a little surprised Riku isn't using his super amazing static powers to blitz through this, but maybe they just don't work under pressure that well. Makes sense, he's new to them.
In any case, interesting chapter, as always the prose is nice, (though putting dialogue on the same line as the action of the character speaking would help make who's speaking a bit clearer), and you write action well 👌 Looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Hey, if I'm gonna read something, I ain't skimming it That may be why I take so long, but it's more enjoyable picking up on those little things and the little details had a big impact on the whole story here, which I liked.
