I like the chemistry between two of them and the wholesome atmosphere of this chapter. And cooking too. I like cooking scenes in fiction, hope there'll be more :)

But shouldn't Valeria understand at least the words "mayonnaise" and "fries" though? Or was is just an artistic convention? I can imagine that they actually do not speak English in this world and both words sounded to her as confusing as the rest of what Caelum says, but qestion still remains. This moment was a bit confusing to me.

Chapter 0 was more like an warm-up to me, but chapter 1 really got me hooked from the beginning. I like where it goes so far. Took me some time to understand that Caelum's words were actual anagrams and not just gibberish 😅 And I like the concept of two people from differents worlds (?), who do speak a common language having to deal with it and establishing communication somehow. I am really curious to see where this story will go :)

Thank you! "Deskmates" is a pretty accurate description of their relations at this stage, yes. About the song titles - these were my favourite songs back in the days, mostly classical and 1990s-2000s rock, if this novel were a movie, they would be the ost :)

I necessarily wanted to introduce the three protagonists in the first chapter, hope that the transitions between them in the next chapthers will seem less chaotic. And the dream happened to me irl a couple of years ago, so this feeling of suffocation really "inspired" my while writing, if you may say so.

I also made a note for the future, to make the first chapters less confusing and more reader-friendly, since a couple of people already mentioned that.
