Nothing like a refreshing bit of sadism to start my day.
On a more serious note, I love your continuous use of references, but more specifically references to writing. It's a very common and very easy mistake when writing in the first person to forget who your character is, or how they'd think, but it's very consistent here, and I would easily be able to tell his narration apart from the millions of other projectable romance light novel protagonists in the world.
