What an ending. I ended up really liking these two. The short chapters and back-and-forth POV switches made it feel very bingeable as well. In the end, a lot of them is still clouded in mystery, as is their future. But I’d like to think they’ll end up just fine, together

I figure the reason Mel quit painting landscapes is because they didn’t garner much attention, while her abstract works do. Her attitude reminds me very much of Rothko, who despised his high-brow audience. At the same time, he continued painting and garnering commercial success. This sort of contradiction isn’t unheard of!
