Druknet responded to “Captain”.
And the spectre keeps calling for him to “come back”.
The watch keeps getting hot and starts to tick every time an event happens.
Developed Theory: Druknet was the Master-and-Commander of his own vessel. At some point something happened at sea. Given the watch always getting hot, I’m guessing a boiler/engine explosion.
The situation on the ship deteriorated fast and one of two things happened.
Druknet either abandoned ship ahead of his men or…
…Druknet was blown clear of the ship.
Either way, “Come back!” was the last thing he heard from one of his crew and he suffers from intense subconscious trauma and guilt from the event.
So it’s possible that nothing supernatural is happening and everything Druknet is experiencing is him coming to terms with what happened.
Or, Druknet is a dead man walking and the sea demands her due…
