Alright, we got the five-man band together! Okisato, Mimoko, Yuusuke, Iori and Utami. Classic.

One thing though, I get where Mimoko is coming from regarding her commentary on the previous match. However…

I get that she is a foil for Okisato’s style of play but her theory driven chess ironically makes him her foil just as much.

Like Utami flipping the switch. I’m getting the feeling Okisato is a more theory driven player underneath but a reckless player on the surface. He definitely plays mind games and I can’t help but wonder if he does what he does to make Mimoko underestimate him.

Maybe I’m reading more into it than there really is but that’s the impression I’m getting so far.

I would argue our boy is the dead one since he can’t seem to hear anyone else over the sound of how awesome he is. 😎

I’m going to echo others that this has got a solid hook to it. I’m curious to see how they both grow as the story progresses.

This absolutely drips 90’s and 00 energy.

I can picture this as an anime from that era. A particular game that dictates everything from official to underground. Out of proportion consequences. Mid and post game explanations where a character pulls off a move that the average person wouldn’t know in order to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

It’s just… It’s just so beautiful 😭

I'll tell you, I had Odd Behavior playing in the background when I was reading this and damn did it ever heighten the experience of this chapter.

From the Masaru's introduction, the glimpse into his mind, the seeming premonition and finally the jumper as well as the aftermath hit just the way it needed to.

I'll be following this one.

“An every day object I see every day.”

Should be…

“An everyday object I see every day.”

Since “everyday” describes the object as common and “every day” implies the frequency.

Alternatively, you could go for…

“A common object I see everday.”

…or any other variation.
