I love writing. So I write what I want.

His last meal isn’t much of a meal. More like a word salad he must sit through. The question is…what is Kovika prison food like?
Spoiler…none.

We’re reaching that climactic point. Strap in. There are a few more chapters of pain before our boy gets to be a hero. The pain will be worth it!
…
I hope.

I really wanted to have a “Set in Australia” kind of feel to the place.
So much has changed in such little time. I was not expecting the boat to fly! What a lovely little twist, so great job with that. You’ve done well to build a nice amount of tension here as well. Like the amount of world lore you’re sprinkling over the chapters has been fantastic. Keep up the amazing work! I need to know what the council did and how they betrayed them!
I mean, everyone dies eventually right? Sebastian is going to live to the ripe old age of 103, sire a gaggle of children and rule the world. But even he will die.
Tragic to more tragic to broken to...hero?

Politics light. More like blue collar worker struggles. No need for an AI explanation.

Aviis scars remind him of who he is. And right now he believes himself to be the monster everyone sees him as. As for the gods, harbinger, and his purpose. Only time will tell.
And yeah, writing that scene was…emotional.
Has a kind character. Does next chapter. Lolol.
The gods have always been there, but now we get to see some meddling.
Did Harbinger say that? Did it use the words rescue? Or save? Or did it simply guide Avii in the direction of Jonas?
The question, who is higher up on that list? Sebastian or Harbinger?
When all you experience is pain, you blame those closest to you. It’s a natural response. Not a correct one, but the easiest…or at least to him it is.

First!
I love the way you introduced this character. The way old friends came back together really builds the feeling of history in this world. How they immediately knew how to act with each other and push each others buttons was great. I also liked being able to see the way that old fight went. The way he failed and now feared to fail again. But again, friends don’t let friends sulk.
Love the start to this story. I feel as though there’s such deep level of neuroticism present right away. It causes an unsettling feeling to spread over me just reading it. Fantastic job! Can’t wait to keep going and figure out more about these eyes and the cruel fates that await those after their appearance.
