Hmmm, there is a lot going on in this chapter that raises questions.
I wondered if a gynoid was going to be brought to the ship, but Maeko’s demeanour is very suspicious. She clings to Sachiko and is clumsy, that sounds like a lot of potential for an “accident” to occur. then there was that single paragraph about Hina being to observant to gynoid personalities. That is worrisome.
Not to mention the sudden war that immediately followed the arrival and the blaming of Sachiko—it all sounds very orchestrated. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes and who is on the chopping block HAL 9000 style.
Though I like that Erika’s purpose is suddenly more clear (at least that we’ve been shown). And her position is fortuitous and unique. I potentially see this being instrumental. And the fact that Sachiko’a sudden shift as a result of this knowledge (and her unwavering trust of gynoids) is quite interesting.
