    Bruh. Zalgo. Anger react.

Precisely how human is Dolly that the effect of the purple hyacinth affects her as well? I mean, sure she has scent receptors, but presumably her wiring and what-not wouldn't allow ill-scented effects to take hold of her. I swear to God, I'll be mad if the reveal is that she was human all along.

Speaking of purple hyacinth, when they're introduced, they are kind of repeated. Look into it, Purl.

As for the finale, 'twas nice. A bittersweet farewell, not so much melancholic. The whole thing reminded me of the premise of Bird Box, so that's nice, I liked that movie stupid as the monsters were. Not that yours was stupid! It was... Bubbles will shut up.

I'm left to wonder if the heart-shaped energy bar is meant to be comedic. Because it kind of strikes me like that and if so, it reminds me of that annoying sitcom doctrine where you can't have anything serious happen for too long without trying to crack a joke. I guess I'll have that energy bar, though. Looks appetising.

As for the emotionality, I'll say it was nice. It tug at my heartstring to see the little Dolly break a little as she was reminded of all the cutesy moments the two shared together. I wished it was a bit more of a pervasive theme, not something that happens just with a trigger, is unexplored throughout the battle, but comes back just at the farewell. But Noah killing himself was unexpected and I loved it. Patta da Porl.

    Bubbles, out. :3

    REALM ASSASSIN
    Chapter:6

    Sep 13, 2021

I think this is going to be the end for me.

I'll begin by saying good job. For what it's worth the story captures the dialogue I've grown to hear in every Disney Channel original I've watched starting with the 90s and ending with all the High School Musicals. Sadly, I'm sure these don't happen in real life, nor am I continuously enthralled by girls stomping and 'Moooooom'-ing all the time.

Kat's fun. I like her, she's an anxious Mabel. Maria's nice, she's like Gothitelle but caring and sarcastic. Elli is also nice. She reminds me of every Hispanic mother figure ever, mumbling something about family always being important. Kind of like Owl House's Luz's mum. Pretty dead ringers for what you see in cartoons nowadays, down to the cliches.

The style is absolutely killing me. For a story so ripe with opportunities to be snarky, cheeky or funny, the narration is surprisingly dull in most parts and the descriptions sometimes have one or two redeeming phrases before delving back into some trite details that I believe we could've lived without. The pacing is surprisingly crawling for a slice of life story that I'm assuming will begin later on. For a starting arc, this has gone for quite a while. Wondering if that prompt change was warranted, really. I welcome it, since it helps me sleep precisely one percent sounder at night, but I don't really see it.

The humour relies a lot on character comedy, whilst the situations are more often than not sitcom scenarios that have lived rent free in my head for years now. I suppose adding a catgirl in the mix does bring a new light to it all, one that is perhaps better explored past this unfortunate stopping point. But alas, I can only go so far.

That being said, congrats on your victory. Hope you get an anime adaptation on top. I wonder how big/small they'll make Kat's boobs. That'll probably be the first month of deliberation. Looking forward to see you hit the silver screen.

    Bubbles, out. :3

    Chapter:10

This is the stopping point for me, alas. Having said that, I'm going to explain that it's an extremely personal thing. Let's just say the resemblance is too uncanny. A girl named Kai from Brighton with a similar world view and experience. I've bawled enough back then and I think I've bawled enough now. I don't have it in me to revisit that part. Not now.

This arc is my favourite. And it's not for any particular reason. Not for the humanity of the interactions. Not for showcasing the breadth of Kai's character and the want of understanding that eludes her, though in her grasp. Not for the tasteful yuri we've been given as a culmination of deep-seated desires in not only one, but both of them. Not for the juicy interactions that could probably keep everyone afloat in that pool. Not for the accurately captured anxiety, awkwardness and hesitation, not for everything. It's just...remembrance, I suppose. Days of future past.

In a sense, this is a 'fuck you, Oscar' moment. I guess I wasn't ready. Hell, even the dates, goddamn happenstance. But it's also a thank you. I guess it's the wrench that makes this cold metallic heart tingle.

3-4-1-2 would be the order I'd see these arcs rearranged, based on the way they're arranged right now. Figure I'd let you ponder that since I'm done. It's an opinion, hardly a prerogative.

The only qualm I have is that I'd have expected more of a hint of reluctance from Annie and the bunch. They seem to be eager, but having heard and known everything, their welcoming seems a little bit too pure for the realism I'm assuming you want to convey. And having been embroiled in a similar scenario, I can say that with most of the same actors, the scene was played a bit more awkwardly.

I guess that's it for me, Oscar. Kudos, man. Hope you make it. Anime adaptation when?

    Kind regards,

    Bubbles.

    Chapter:31

Police men in London having weapons? What they're gonna wave batons at you?

Frankly, this arc triggers me. I understand what it's meant to prove, but it feels like it's unfortunately trying to double down on an idea that we've already been accustomed to. You're giving Kai a new facet, one that's merely a derivative of the twisted code of conduct she derives all of her actions from. We're seeing muted gestures that boil down to her being as lifeless as a sum of all that's happened to her, only to find that it's not as easy; rather it's just something that clings on to you like a parasite, a leech and a lucre, always aiming to drain more. But, I don't know, dude. I don't feel it.

The moral, if one could even dare call it so, at the end sounds like a rushed misdemeanour. Aaron pointing things out, Kai breaking apart because of that then claiming it's common nature of the insect to gnaw at her. Images on mirrors reflected in the view from hallway down with tears spilled only for those deemed the most far removed from the Kai of today and the closest to the Kai of before. It just doesn't have the oomph, for me. The strength of it all feels dull and this isn't by the design you've chosen. Oh contraire, it's because the dullness isn't enough. It's a damage through apathy, one that I feel doesn't do the story justice.

I could go at length talking about other faux-pas but it might be beside me. The build-up is lackluster, the reliance on eventuality and pivots (Rosemary's tea scene and the attribution of a name, face and identity to a target) would've worked better, in my humble view, were we given less of it. The conversations with Aaron save it, but unfortunately, the finale kind of rips all my impression apart. He harbours some form of omnipotence, but being made aware of whatever limiting factor is underlying there... cheap reveal, honestly. Same goes for the more expositiony tone. Alas, personal qualms, personal qualms. Who am I to dig onto something that I've ultimately enjoyed. I guess the want of perfection is twisted.

Confuse react, 8/7 would let Kai jump out of a burning building holding me. Until the next time...

    Kind regards,

    Bubbles. :3
