A Pro-Wrestling match is based on trust between the competitors, so although Hoshino did say it, the private match she offered to Igarashi was her best way of showing it. And she did want to thank him for sticking true to his intentions in a way only she can.

I see a pro-wrestling match as a story told through action whether the match is man vs. man, or woman vs woman, or man vs. woman. In the case of the latter though, you can't help but get a few kinky thoughts here and there even if they took the match seriously. They are having constant physical contact with each other, after all.

That's why I didn't have to take an indecent direction with Igarashi and Hoshino. I may have not included descriptions like "The headlock she placed me in was a taste of heaven. My cheek pressing against her side, I felt the smooth, yet, toned nature of her skin," because visualizing what they did as a reader probably gave you enough stimulation for your imagination.
Nonetheless, I'd be lying if I said there were no dirty thoughts flowing from at least Igarashi. As for Hoshino having similar thoughts, that's up to you to decide since the narrative isn't from her perspective, but she was the one who directed the match's flow.

By the way, I modified the ending of the match and post-match interaction. Please give this chapter a re-read when you have the time! 😉

If my description of Hoshino's new Star-Crossed Lock still feels vague, look up "Matt Hardy Icepick" on Youtube to get the exact idea of how she ended the match.

Since the story covers about 2 days, I felt that it would be too soon for a romance to develop between Igarashi and Hoshino after they just barely got to know each other. So I ended it with them becoming friends, but also with Hoshino showing signs that she wouldn't mind seeing Igarashi again. In Igarashi's case, he sees himself as someone not worthy of getting together with a celebrity, so he remains passive and keeps his celebrity crush to himself.

I may have not written this directly, but I also feel like another reason why Hoshino tried to get Igarashi interested in starting a pro-wrestling career was so he could sort of become her equal as someone in the same industry, and therefore someone worthy of dating her without causing some kind of outrage.

Speaking of scrapping, I'd like to share with you some cut content that had to be done because of time constraints or simply because I changed my mind on including it.

I sort of regret taking this out, but I wanted to have Hoshino rant that female pro-wrestlers in Japan are considered unattractive no matter how good they look. It's because of the fact they've trained themselves to be competitive and physically strong, which is the opposite of the ideal Japanese girlfriend, who are submissive and fragile. Hoshino was going to also say stuff like she and the other pro-wrestlers can become the girliest of girls when they're out of the ring, and that they'd also like the idea of a man protecting them, or in Hoshino's case, she'd like to protect her man too. She was going to go off in this tirade after Igarashi rejects her despite the signs she was giving him, but it was taken out since I wasn't going for a conventional romance. Would've been nice to include in some way though. And now you probably understand why she's still single by the end of the story.

I wanted to also go in-depth on the star motifs between Igarashi and Hoshino but I had a deadline to follow. The farthest I went was Hoshino's gimmick as the Rising Star, or someone whose reputation was increasing quickly in her industry. Regarding their names and following the basis of the Kanji used, Ryusei Igarashi roughly translates to "A storm of fifty meteors" while Mirai Hoshino roughly translates to "You are a future star."

It was a nice break from ParaRene to write this story, but I'm glad it's over now. The burnout of doing all-nighters to get it done on time really left an effect on me. I consider the story to be unpolished and with oversights here and there, but I'm glad you were still able to enjoy it even though I wasn't able to give it everything I had originally planned.

Once again, thank you so much for plowing through 22,000+ words in one go and leaving a like and comment for every chapter! You're one of my best readers ever! 😁

A match made with the Rising Star
    Chapter:5

I liked the idea that this romance story's MC played the role of a wingman for their childhood friend.

It was also nice that this was not a conventional love story, but the prelude to what could evolve into a love story later on. My Oneshot ended with that in mind.

The script of the play honestly felt hobbled like the two gang leaders just accepting a 50 / 50 truce when one of them had the other cornered, but it was just orchestrated to bring Riku and Ichika closer, so I'll let it slide.

Now here's what you could've done to improve the reading experience.

For starters, I would've wanted a thorough description for Riku and Ichika's physical appearance. For Riku, you just mentioned him having a dashing hairstyle but the word dashing is subjective. It would've been nice if you mentioned his type of hairstyle, maybe his hair color, and his body type too. The same applies for Ichika. I had to imagine their appearances myself since I had no basis to work with, but I would've wanted to know how you visualized them.

It also would've been nice if you included the reason why they seem to be having a mutual crush on each other. From the way it played out here, they just do for the plot. Their personalities also seemed to lack exploration, which I feel is because their role in the story was as the lead roles in the MC's play.

These were just the aspects on the top of my head. The time limit of the Monthly Challenge can make us rush things that we sometimes make oversights. I know I made some in my Oneshot.

So with that being said, I hope you take my advice to help improve yourself as a writer for your next work.

    Good luck! 👍
