It’s implied that the kids there are from her preschool when Imani is hoping her friends are there after making promises with them all. Then when Sofía is showing pictures Carmine notices that her son is also a preschooler. You can kinda connect the dots at that point. The whole reason Sofía is there is because her son Samuel begged to take him there or else he’d eat a worm.
