Uhm... Wait the f***, WHAT?!?
Evil dudes be evil... Hmm. Sorta strange if I may be honest here.
I am stoked about the worldbuilding revelations - the energy bars containing the abilities of the monster for one. Did Noah have those, too? Do you unlock them after eating enough of them? Do you get a part of the victim's memories because of how all over the place Runo sounded right after transforming? I still think/hope Runo got like this from eating or at least a near-fatal injury, and then he suddenly had to adapt to this new half of himself but failed ro reign it in. This story is salvageable, and since I haven't yet reached the end I don't want to accuse you of anything yet, but Runo behaving as he does here, if left like this, is not good... Ah, saying something is simply not good is hard to justify, but I feel dissatisfied with it. He seemed like more of a nuanced character than that. Well, I will see.
The scientist thing was pretty coold, though. "According to you, my dearest Dolly, you are the scientist." According to her? Like, can he hear her gem talking and she was once a human who just happened to be the scientist? Is the maker related to the scientist? Is she herself her own maker and iust added memories of a supposed different maker so that she can better hide in normal society?
I feel like my theories are getting out of hand, so I will see.
I actually had my suspicions after Runo talked about betrayal that he kinda warned Dolly of what he would soon do, but I still thought he'd be less of a frustrating purely-evil bad guy.
