Didn't we figure this out at the beginning of the chapter? That winning the tournment would mean saving Her Holiness?
Or is this just the same solution for a different problem? That being attaining the respect of the Duke?

I second this. Baka just kinda feels strange. Unless this was some other county and his uncle's just a huge weeb.

Speaking of the uncle. He certainly isn't what I expected. I like to imagine he's that loud on jobs too. Just sneaking around a building then bam! He starts talking. Everyone's alerted and he just laughs, saying it adds to the fun.
Anyway. You did a good job making the uncle's concern and care feel genuine. Both with how he acts and the way Keisuke feels about it. It's always unsettling when a loudmouth gets quite.
So good on ya Gulf. Making care feel real is strangely difficult as I've come to notice.

Oh yeah. If they're not prepared for it, it becomes super easy to sweep someone off their feet. Even as a wee lil' lad, I could knock an older person on their butt with the most basic wrestling technique. That's why stance is so important in all martial arts. Because otherwise, you'd spend the whole fight on your rear end.

Oh, okay. I hadn't considered the fact that he might get distracted. I'm the kind of person who can focus on two things at once so that possibly slipped my mind.
I think all you would really need to explain that he's distracted is a quick 'The lock clicks back into place. Damn it,' after Hayami does whatever.

Anyway. I appreciate the explanation. Hopefully Keisuke can weasel his way out of his situation.

I have to admit. You really threw me through a loop these last two chapters. I kept waiting for the moment where we would find out 'haha you just jumped to conclusions like the foolish reader you are.'

So... A question if you don't mind. Why is Eve so afraid of Alexander? I thought Molina commited suicide. Sure, Alexander has power, but if he didn't use it in the last life, why would he use it here?

A few things I wanted to mention before I continue.
You have a lot of grammer issues. Missing punctuation, missing 'ed' and 'ing's. And a strange flow. It became hard to follow at times and I had to re-read a few paragraphs and think others over.
Normally I don't mind too much, but it became difficult to read.

Another thing is your dialogue. It felt very... Unnatural. The people talking didn't feel like humans.

Just some things I wanted to mention. I'm actually cery excited to see where this goes.

I have a few questions. And I haven't read this in a while so forgive me of there are some gaps in my knowledge.

So, just how modern is this world? They apparently have hotels, supermarkets, elevators, and fairly modern attire. But they still use swords?
Then Ben's village still has a chief, but other towns have mayors? Maybe there's a disconnect from the rest of society because of transportation, but somehow Zephinya keeps tabs on all the twelve year-olds?

And what about mana beasts? The grey wolf seems like a wolf, but bigger. And they can be killed with basic weapons like stone knives and shovels. So why is it so improbable that Ben killed one? And why are they feared as much as they are? If you got a squad of twenty men with spears, I think you could be okay in the forests.

I want to ask about magic, but I'll wait until Ben actually develops a mana core for that.
