That's an interesting clarification, because if it's true that nobility is seen as significantly tied to ability, then normally there are bound to be nobles that see Caramello as a significant threat to their power. However, the King's reaction was more amused than excited, which potentially tells me that Caramello's circumstance is so rare, that safeguards aren't typically established/necessary to protect the thrones of royal families. But that's just my personal read.
Regardless if I'm not reading into all this right, I'm genuinely hoping you build up on this as you've been strongly implying in your reply. There are so many potentially rich and deep themes you can explore, which complements the charming humor pretty well.
