I'll get straight to the point. I love this novel.
Characters: Ngl, my expectations for them were fairly low, since all of them seem to have the common character archetypes. But I realize it's not about how unique your character is from other characters, rather it's about how they are executed and drawn out from the inside. At first, you'd think, ah this character is just similar to that character, but no. They may fit the stereotypes a lot, but their personalities have this sort of edge that separates them from their archetype. I'd make a wild guess that it's due to their backstories, actions, thoughts and perspectives. Like they're real humans or 3 dimensional characters
Plot: Throughout my readings, I felt I've been riding in the waves. I didn't know what to expect. It was easily unpredictable, making it all the more entertaining. But even at it's predictable moments, it still manages to play out well. Your way of handling emotion is quite smooth, I must say. To top it all off, you have such a unique take on the romcom genre. It's not the typical boy meets girl thing and instead seemed like a lovers royale or something.
Vibe: Loving the cheery vibes of this novel. It has the wholesome romcom feel to it. In fact, the Rom to Com ratio is pretty balanced here, not leaning into one genre. The artwork also gives bonus points, it fits the novel so well, I'm jealous!
This isn't really a critique, but I just wanted to point out that it kind of felt like there weren't much events going on. Not sure how to explain it though. It's like Bus Ride -> Camp Arrival -> Mushroom Picking -> Cave -> End. It's like there's something missing, but I can't put my finger on it. I don't think it matters much anyway, so please don't take this dumb take seriously. I might be talking nonsense.
Anyways, as a fellow romcom rival, I will gladly let your novel step on mine.
