I'm jk, it's just that it seemed like his dead mom really affected him in the beginning, but he hasn't mentioned her in some time. It's understandable that he's thinking about other things, but it doesn't seem like he's intentionally burying her under the new experiences to cope. People grieve in different ways, though, so there's that.

I liked the first chapter and the beginning of the second one a lot, but when they talk, it's like they're trying hard to be quirky

I like how the characters were introduced, though. Personally I've had people tell me it's hard to catch up because I add them all at once so this is a galaxy brain approach to the situation. Makes me wonder...

I find it hilarious that he's such a gentleman that he thinks of censoring her whilst forgetting about himself, how very MC of him. I feel like the typical teenage boy would be doing things the other way around, but that's the power of MCism for you.

I feel impending doom for some reason, but maybe it'll start getting better now he's starting to think about real life as well. I thought the story would take a darker turn or something. It's just that the manic pixie dream girl thing is so on the nose and he's such a sullen, disinterested archetype that there HAS to be a catch somewhere. Or maybe I'm misreading the whole thing, idk. Either way, I'm intrigued. It feels very welcome to the NHK ish.
