I don’t get tired of “SHIIIINK” just like I don’t get tired of Flint’s incantation, or Murry’s “sheesh”, please tell me we get at least one more of the latter. 😆 Every pulled their weight in the fight, and it was beautiful to see. And their words have inspired the hero. Kemal wanted the bloodblade and now he’s about to get it 👀 just not what he had in mind.

Katsu! 😎 We’ve reached the end of another story, huh? This—as you probably know—was my first full 3rd person limited project, and I was pretty nervous going into it. 😅 I like to make really introspective works, which is why I consistently use 1st person, but I wanted to develop the surrounding cast in a way that I haven’t until now—which is why I’m super glad to hear that all the intended vibes got across. I tried to model the core trio after a classic JRPG party (Breath of Fire/Final Fantasy), but I also took inspiration from HxH. In a similar way, I want to be able to split the characters up in the future and have stories that can stand on their own without simply living around Felix.

I’ve practiced really hard to make my stories seem cinematic and anime-coded, so that’s a high compliment indeed. 🤩 I don’t think it’s too bad to have some western pop culture and literary influence when writing weeb fics though 😁 I watched Russell Crowe in Gladiator and thought that there was a clear narrative mirror with Felix in some ways there. Anyway, I appreciate you reading as always, and I look forward to the conclusion of the bloodblade saga. 🩸 Best of luck, brother!

It is pretty nice to see him rewarded for all turmoil he had to endure 🙂‍↕️ I considered the tragic ending where the farm was destroyed/already abandoned, but I feel like that would have betrayed the spirit of the novel—even despite some other more serious elements. Basically, I wanted folks to feel the triumph after Crow instead of doom and gloom 😂 I also wish there were more words to work with, but I had tons of fun anyway and you can be sure I’ve got a sequel already cooking in my head. Dante actually was telling the truth in some of his earlier explanations, it’s just parsing what’s true vs. what’s false 😆 the best liars like to incorporate both. Dante loves his brother, but he loves his kingdom too. The two were at odds, unfortunately.

Sometimes the most expected result ends up being the unexpected one, and unfortunately for Felix, that was the case here 😫 I won’t sit here and excuse Crow 🐦‍⬛ since at the end of the day, he’s still a killer, but given the constructive environment Felix was as a teenager, one has to think he could’ve had even more potential. I do wish I could have had a whole other chapter for more fighting, but you’ll notice how close I cut it 😂 literally right up against that limit haha.

I think the political firestorm he’s about to receive on account of Felix roaming free will serve as a small appetizer until we can get to dessert 🧁 as far as Dante is concerned. I’m glad you noticed the mirror between the two of Felix and Crow though 🪞I like to think of “what if” scenarios like “what would have happened if the king found and nurtured Crow instead?” and things like that.
