Ichika definitely gets more bold with Haruhi. It's almost as if the confidence she represses with her father comes out with Haruhi. She definitely has no issues chatting and criticizing him 🤭

Good to know Ayane is safe and sound! And now Kanako can be closer to her, since they're both in the same school.

It's pretty common that child actors fall out of fame as they age. So I think I can understand how Ayane would really lose the will to live once her job started to reject her. But I'm glad she seems to be bouncing back a little, thanks to Kanako.

Haruhi made sure to pull off the 'protagonist timing' before confronting Ichika's father lol not a bad strategic move, especially since he got a good idea of what her father was really thinking.

I noticed Haruhi said "girlfriend" and not "fake girlfriend" mid chapter...😉 of course it was preceeded by 'gorilla' 🤣 but I think it's just another hint at how he's slowly coming around for Ichika.

This was a great chapter. There was so much tension and all the characters really felt like they had somewhere to be.

First, I think Ichika's dad isn't a bad guy, just a product of the corporate world. He really does care for Ichika and wants only the best, and he's not totally wrong for being suspicious of Haruhi ether. He has good senses, but needs some tuning.

And second, just imagining how fast and serious Haruhi was to reach Ichika really shows how important she is to him. He could have easily said "meh, I don't care if he finds out I'm not there." Then he could have come up with excuses to justify it later, but he didn't. He ran to her, forgoing the value of safty and money, just to see her. I really believe that subconsciously he wants to be around her.

(Admittedly, his reputation is in jeopardy, but as far as I recall he didn't even reference that at all this chapter, likely meaning he didn't think about it in that way)

And as icing on the cake, the time sensitive nature of the chapter gave it just enough pressure to feel real.

Also, I think the taxi part was fun. I have a theory on the old lady (although, we'll see if she appears again lol) and I think the driver is a good guy too.

This chapter just hit hard in a good way. It feels like it's the point where the story gives us a taste of how important Ichika is to him. Nothing shows importance more then when a character is willing to drop everything for someone they subconsciously care about. I really liked it! Now let's see if Haruhi can fix the situation he's in with Ichika's father.

I think Haruhi's really starting to see the cracks in his fake personality. Ichika has shown him what kind of a person he is when he lets his guard down. Now that he's had a taste of something different, he wants more.

Although Sumi isn't a bad person, she doesn't bring out the best in him. (That's why I'm team Ichika ) Plus, she doesn't like anime. Need I say more? (actually, I wouldn't be surprised if she was hiding the fact that she liked anime too. But we'll see if that prediction holds any water )

I'm curious to read your essay on isekai! I've tended to only stick to the more unique stories that put the characters in very unfamiliar positions, such as historical characters thrust into fantasy worlds, or people being reincarnated as Inanimate objects, (both of which I may or may not be referencing books I've read recently on here🤭) but at this point I've picked up on pretty much picked up on what's shared among most isekai. I'm interested to see if this can add to my perspective.

Poor Ichika 😭😭😭 they were both having fun together, and she just wanted him to stay a little longer.

Lowkey, I was kinda hoping he was having so much fun with Ichika he would have forgotten his date with Sumi. but honestly, he needed to have both experiences so he could see which girl he really cares for. Sometimes a little jealousy can put everything into perspective.

I think what I'm going to do is write up a draft for vol 2 over the course of next week. I have an idea and an end goal for where I want it to go, so I figure it's definitely something to give a shot. If I like it enough, I'll edit and post up sometime later this month. (Plus I'm still doing some writing and edits on my FOE series's next installment, so I could use a little extra time for that 😅)
