Yeah, this was tough for me to write because I wanted to really portray a really harmful sensibility but without using the conflict as just a kind of prop. I want to say I did okay here, and I'm glad you got angry at Cynthia and the family! I love Vladimir and Stefan too. <3

Yeah I really struggled with trying to write in the romantic ideation. I don't think it comes across all that cleanly but my personal idea is a mix of the idea that I think people can form relationships non-physically but also that Vivian has thus far mostly displaced a lot of her feelings onto the bracelet so there's this kind of self-love that also surfaces....if any of that makes sense at all. xDD

I originally wanted to add more hints earlier in the book, but I decided to leave them ambiguous since Vladimir was never the main character anyway.

And yeah, I was deciding at first between someone a bit more nuanced but I felt like Cynthia's brand of hatred is already so repulsive that it made no sense trying to make her anything but evil.
