Oh shoot Selphine is literally hooked on the adrenaline of fighting 😭 because it's the only rush she can get here in the Void. Honestly I'm surprised this world lasted as long as it did, without more people going mad and indulging in violence or gambling or just...anything to feel alive. (But I guess for the people who don't realize the truth of the "Void" maybe they just become a part of it, and basically turn into NPCs without realizing.)

It was looking like this fight might continue till one of them ran out of magic, but captives change things! Arthur and Jack have to act fast now 😨

Oh wait woah did Arthur transfer Jack to another body?! I wasn't expecting that!! Is Jack in Louise's mind now?! Will he get to see her memories? Or Maria's?

Merling-chan gets her extra sweet pie!!! :D she is just having the best time with all these treats! Now if only our hero could share in some of that happiness... (But I feel like his past memories might prevent him from enjoying cafe-like sweets 😖)

Merling-chan spinning around in a straw hat might be one of the cutest images in this story so far 💕💕 (okay, I'll admit, I am still a fan of both merlings AND sun hats, so I am biased 🥰)

Oh we get to see the play!! An artist and a swordsmith -- working together to create a dream sword, and then slowly falling in love as they do so. It is a cute story, but is our hero thinking of someone else while watching it? Maybe his feelings for his adorable companion? ❤️

A nice little hike for a respite! I love all the descriptions of the trail, the trees, the stream...it was just so relaxing and I could see it so clearly in my mind!!

And it's nice to see that Layn's training is paying off, even if only by making himself *think* he's stronger, he *is* slowly becoming stronger! He might just outlast Lucia on this hike 😁

Curious now as to where this hike will take them! Might they get a little closer personally? :D might they discover a miasma enemy? 🤭 (Okay guessing probably not that last one, they seem like they're in a fairly safe area!)

I'm so excited to finally see Jessica drawing!!! With art skills like that, she would definitely be accepted into an arts school 😁

Oooh the gossiping girls might be Brandon's admirers? That's interesting 🤔 wouldn't they be glad then that Jessica is dating Keith, and not Brandon? (Oh but maybe they didn't know who Jessica was dating in particular. That makes sense.)

Tony scaring off those girls made me like him much better 🤣 but maybe not for those lewd gestures hahaha! I'd probably be running off too! But I wonder what Sean's parents do that he has to help out with so much? 🤔 Curious about the team!! Excited to learn more about them soon :D

A little bit of politics to help explain the situation from the father's side of things! I wish I had more time to explore into the world-building of Farelle (their government, their laws, how the justice system is handled) because like you said, their politics can be a bit rudimentary (but it's mostly due to corruption -- as in, the Dukes can pay to have Mister Faralind be framed for the murder, because they have the money. So knowing that might happen, the dad decided to poison the plants instead.) But I can't really go THAT far into the world because... 🤣 how do I put it? If I start doing a little world building, that can raise more questions (who are these dukes? why is corruption okay? are there no laws in place to protect the people?) and I cannot answer those in the scope of this story. So it sadly will have to be a little bit of a handwave on some of these more political parts 😅 but hopefully I'll be able to give just enough details that it feels acceptable, if not 100% realistic!

Yeah, in the original version, I had Jun accuse Claire of attacking the plants...because for all Jun knows, Claire has a ton of magic, and could easily cause this kind of problem. Which, while that made sense logically (magical-looking attack --> probably done by magical witch?) it made Jun look like a total idiot 🤦‍♂️ considering everything Claire's done for him at this point. So it was way better to reign it in to what you read now!! :D And I'm glad you liked how it turned out! (Since you didn't read the previous version, I know you've got a fresh perspective on this c: so it's nice to hear it works!)

I sat there looking at the script and went "Naaaaahhh" and made poor Toren lose -10 intelligence points, but gain +10 Absolute Comedy Charisma points. "Hi I'm Kazou. You can call me Kazou" this boy is exactly my kind of awkward, and this line made me love him that much more 😆

But hey we also learned that Suma is a manga fan!! :D maybe they can have fun discussing this?

And I don't mind Kazou being the literal protagonist, while Toyo might be more the "Main Character" archetype. I feel like that still makes sense with your title 👍 but I'd be excited to learn more about Toyo too.
