That hollow, heart-sinking feeling was exactly what I was going for!! So I'm glad it got across! Jun pounding at the door was really one of my favorite visuals of this chapter 💔
But, I'm also happy some of Toren's comedic relief made it not too painful xD Alas, we won't have any Toren interludes during Claire's backstory, so things might get a bit darker here :D / D: ?

Also no worries about the unfollow! Some of HoneyFeed's buttons are really confusing x( I've accidentally unliked something way more often than I thought (or failed to have my "like" go through) so honestly, I give people benefit of the doubt with these things. It's way too easy to slip and click the wrong thing.

Europe is indeed the inspiration for this world! I was leaning a bit more western (sort of Netherlands / Belgium inspired.) But it was very much influenced by my European family who always try to marry off their "American granddaughter" every time I go to visit 😆

Ahaha Claire never skips wrist day 😉 or maybe it's just magical strength? xD Honestly if I could hire a Madam Claire to manage my social media, I'd do so immediately.

Literally Orlando Bloom "They're taking the Hobbits to Isengard" Legolas is exactly what I'm picturing 🤣 Honestly, I feel like there's way too few anime that actually make the MC the elf!

The "parallel self" topic I plan to play with a bit, it'll be a back-burn concept but it's still at the core of the plotline. I will openly admit that Inception and Black Rock will have me beat, hands down (someday, I'll write a philosophical thriller 🤣) but I had to keep things light for a Romantic Comedy/Drama. But there will still be some interesting fate/parallel world shenanigans later down the line 😉

Ahaha yep, I wanted a bold MC to get the story going! One of my biggest complaints about isekai stories is usually having a very front-heavy exposition about the world/lore. So I wanted to avoid that and get things going FAST 😆

(The MC will chill out a bit after the whole "this might be a dream" effect wears off though. One of my revision plans for these beginning chapters is to emphasize that the MC believes he's dreaming, which is why he's so impulsive.)

The father's motives will actually be important a bit later on in the story 😉 he's mostly a side-character for now, but trust me he's got reasons!

Honestly, Ohta might be the character I find most relatable (even though he just shows up here in the beginning 😆) because yep...that is me at work, just trying to get everyone to calm down enough to get the job done. (I hope to bring Ohta back in some of the ending chapters, where we maybe get a little preview of Earth again 💖)

Ahh Saya was just curious about the results 🤣 is it so surprising that a guy who taught himself to code in his free time would also be really good at academics? He can study last minute and totally absorb it all!

Oh Mika is (slightly) lying about Saya's reason for pulling him aside. Interesting 🤔 Mika still doesn't want to attract unwanted attention. But I didn't take him for the lying type. Though maybe for a small thing like this, he doesn't mind.

Oooh but then he's lying about "enjoying" the weekend with Mana too 😭 since he doesn't really experience "joy" he can't be honest. I feel so bad for Mika 🥺 he has to lie just to look 'normal'

Mana asks for another date, but I'm glad Mika had other plans 😔 their misunderstanding will just deepen the more they hang out together.

A little more info about Mika's trade business!! Can't say I know much about trading rules, but it seems like Mika knows some useful stuff from his father's business.

But a genuine Thank You from Saya!! 🥹 Mika is a source of happiness for her, during this rough time after the loss of her father.

The day of the birthday party is here! But school first 🤣 ahaha I have to agree with Mika, why go to school when he doesn't have to? He can get third place in his class without attending any of the lectures...but huh, Saya is here as part of the disciplinary committee? 🤔 Hmm! Curious what's going on!

100% was expecting the computer to be running Linux and Saya to be very confused 🤣 but Saya seems pretty comfortable with a multi-OS system. (I mean they did originally meet while resolving a tech issue, so I shouldn't be surprised that Saya is good with this kind of thing!)

Wondering what kind of code the website is running on! are you imaging a PHP and SQL database kind of thing, where Mika is self-taught? (Just personal curiosity here, not anything you need to add into the story)

But Mika confronts Saya about her behavior! She almost admitted to the jealousy! Almost 😂

Oooh a business offer 🤔 little worried about it being a scam, but I hope it's legitimate! Could be a big step for them!
