Janus/Jun? Hmmm? HMMM? xD I'll admit, I wasn't originally going to give Prof Akaventus a first name. But I decided to change that to make things seem a little more interconnected.
Claire definitely pre-recorded that glance towards Roki, knowing exactly that it would impact him.
(Though I'm taking some liberties with the 'recording' aspect, since it's a magic spell. I'm allowing the illusion-Claire to have a bit more response/feedback to Jun than a voicemail would, just because I didn't want it to feel too cold.)
Ooooh I was definitely imagining something where the shapes align with the type of spell. The physical size of the drawing dictates the scale of the spell (hence why world-altering = whole ballroom and then some. Technically it probably should have been even bigger, but for narrative reasons, tower ballroom seemed impactful enough.) Polygons, depending on the number of "sides", would dictate the field of physics, chemistry, or biology type of the spell. (So triangles, for instance, might relate to the defying of physics and forming energy/mass where there's none, like creating fire or water from nothing. While squares might be more in the biology field, which might be what Claire used for a mind-altering charm.) Then I imagine curves to be used for fine-tuning, aligning the spell to the exact intended usage and "filtering out" unwanted outcomes. (So you could change a "Create water" physics spell, and alter it into "Create only a small amount of water, and set the temperature to cold, creating an icicle.)
....This magic system will never come up in-story xD and also, it has a TON of loopholes and would need way more definition, so it was just a broad idea I didn't explore much.
