In Haru's case, it wasn't that he was trying to impress her. He was becoming unhinged like he does in dreams, in an attempt to scare Kasumi away, only for it to backfire, lol. (I think it mentions that in the previous karaoke chapter)

At this point, Haru doesn't think that what he's done is 'worth being liked'. 😂
