I think you have a lot of good ideas here. But I feel like the writing holds it back a bit. The dialogue is in-your-face and has a boldness, but it's still missing the same thing I noted earlier. It feels completely different than how it started off. It seems rushed, so I'm a bit disappointed.
Maybe, it's a personal preference. It's eye-catching to me, but I feel like it's missing depth.

Your latest chapters have gotten really good. It captures the disconnect perfectly like how you overlap a scene from the past to the current moment. And him waking up to see that he had overdone things was something I expected but didn't feel forced. I am curious as to what happens after this.
Whether you plan to throw him further and further into despair by tainting even his old memories, or if there is some hope that he will change and adapt.
