Jess doesn’t know what she thinks. She doesn’t understand what she feels. You could almost say that she has a feeling that it is all hopeless at this point.

my first thought was that at least he doesn’t have to go to the rope course now, everyone hates team building day. But he may be in a worse type of hell. I am trying to think what level of Dante’s hell this would be.

I enjoy reading her internal dialogues. she is very easily distracted, but it feels real and believable. Also, that is one powerful chibi
I would not say that Ryan is a red herring per se He will become more relevant as the story progresses.
