That would always be an option, but I think it is more of an excuse than anything. Jessica is trying very hard to accept who she now is, but in the back of her mind she is having a hard time to let go of what she believes she once was.

Wait! you can’t end it like that. it was one of the most beautiful chapters of the story. I really loved the part about Love was not about control but seeing someone for who they are and staying anyways. And there she goes again. This was another well written chapter. Growth doesn’t happen overnight. She went quickly from accepting that she wasn’t alone to spiraling downward in the bath. This is the truth. She is lucky to have an uncle that is so understanding. He may not truly understand what Miyami is going through, but he cares. She is lucky to have him.

Even Dostoevsky wrote that people can find pleasure in a toothache. otherwise there is no reason to mine with pain. I like that you began the chapter with that recognition because it sets the tone for the rest of tha chapter. As for the end, I can only say ”Wow!”
