I'm so glad they cleared the air and that he allowed himself to be honest with her about his life, and what had led him on this path. As for his dead client... I believe that's something a good person would always blame themselves for, no matter what logic tells them. It's much easier for an outsider to 'forgive' the idea of guilt. At least Shuhei tried to do the right thing, it was such a rough awakening for him.
Love the ending scene of her sleeping with her head on his chest. They went through so many emotions that it's no wonder they're exhausted. And, as much as I want them to finally take the step to lovemaking, this wasn't the right moment. This was the moment for a different kind of intimacy.
