It’s such a real and relatable moment to groan and complain about a long commute. Even the eternal hate it. That was a wonderful addition. I continue to find it adorable that pestilence and death are in this love hate relationship, where the devil you know may as well be the sounding board you use. It’s nice seeing their interactions so fluid.

And pestilence not poisoning someone?! Gasp. Is she turning over a new (tea) leaf?! Or is there more going on??

Hmmm, the plot thickens. Very interesting. We’re seeing some level of presumed motive popping up and some level of connection with Ravens past. This was a solid intrigue chapter with some comedy and sexual tension sprinkled in. I find myself very curious where this will lead.

So war makes his grand appearance. Fantastic. And in blue suit goon no less. Real big American tough guy energy there. It is interesting to get the confirmation from another source who doesn’t joke that Deaths face is screwed up. It makes me wonder at this point what is going on with her. Also, I love that Death is the one with a sense of humour. But I guess that would make sense. You kind of need it in that role.

And then. They. Did it! In the dirt! Hilarious commentary as always. It also makes me wonder if Death (focusing on the contraceptives for a moment) doesn’t believe in intimacy because of the frailty of life. Why birth something only to have it die. That thought makes me feel sorry for her.

Oh shit, here comes Suit-per Man. Here to save the economy. lol. Another nameless figure with the power of information on his side. Interesting.

I think your incorporation of magical items with a well detailed lore is a great addition. Youre adding some reality into the world of fantasy and adding power to the narrative. It’s a great addition and I love seeing these things incorporated. Unfamiliar with the actual power behind these items in lore, it’s a bit over my head at first read but you give detailed description so that it doesn’t require any additional research.

This is a great fight. I do love how Death, even when given the opportunity to let Raven die they don’t give in. I can only imagine suddenly stopping by your fingers was like the best and worse knuckle crack in the world.

I know you said you didn’t enjoy the last fight but you’re quite good at them! So I think you should keep up with these action sequences in other stories. If you continue to hone this I think you could make quite the action packed story! This one already is after all!

This is an interesting mash up of Lawful Good vs Chaotic Good characters. Both have a set of morals, though one wants to accomplish change through staying on the right side of the legal line and maintaining their morals. The other is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish good, even if it means challenging the morals of society. I love this dichotomy of characters. Meanwhile, I feel like Death is more of a Neutral Good. Somewhere between law and chaos! Id put death as neutral evil, because death, but her personality doesn’t draw that evil vibe. If anything she is true neutral. Anyways. Nerdout over. Continuing on!

Hotty McHood over here! Sus but in a good way. What a great reveal. There was some great tension present and plenty of confusion. I loved how Death set up this meet cute and then also equally botched it by openly declaring Ravens insanity. So hilarious! I look forward to seeing where this moment goes!

Immediate alarms and sus! I mean, it may be my hyper vigilant nature, but ET is throwing off super sus vibes the entire chapter and I think it comes off great.

I really enjoy Deaths hatred of the internet. It really is a Petri dish of hate and stalking, which could lead to more death, which as we’ve seen she wishes to lessen. I also love that pestilence is whining about Death like a scorned ex girlfriend. Absolutely hilarious. There’s some good shifts in this chapter that really kept me engaged!

I’m digging this sprinkling of mystery you’ve got going on here. More mysterious deaths. Potentially more magic involved. More things that death is not understanding. There was also the lore drop that the host doesn’t need to be alive for them to inhabit the body, but once they’re gone it’s done and onto the next body. As a reader I feel that this is important.

Also the fact that Raven is getting along with pestilence is hilarious. I also love the symbolism of Raven, seeing as the birds are opportunistic scavengers. She is a journalist, a scavenger, who now hangs out with pestilence (something that would create lots corpses) and death follows her. It’s a beautiful cast you’ve created here.

Ooh, very interesting. To have a death slip through Deaths grip is interesting. To have so much information but nothing usable. It is a very suspicious moment. And the timing was too precise. It makes me think that there is something more going on here!

Wow this is a great fight scene! Well done. You have a lot of suspense, twists and turns. It really kept me engaged! I like the way you do magic combat, it’s not overly complicated with flashing moves but still has a lot of power behind the moments.

When death couldn’t flee my heart stopped and I began to think all the things she did. Amazing job building to this point! I also liked the little moments of comedy you slipped into this fight. Pestilence is a little freak!

Oooh, intriguing! I love that Death and Pestilence were on a little quest together though you bring up a lot of really great moments that make me as a reader think. Like, how did pestilence know the secret passage or how was it possible to damage deaths spirit form.

Pestilence is quickly becoming my favourite character too. She’s just a little bit crazy and the unnecessary moment of throwing shade to the tea was hilarious. You do well to bring up moments from her interlude into this chapter which is a wise choice. Noting the tea and infertility being the main ones. But also, goddamn, cost of living! Hahahaha, what a great joke!

It was definitely a wise move on Deaths part to keep her late night activities a secret from Raven. I get a serious vibe that this girl couldn’t lie herself out of a paper bag. Or in this instance, a cardboard bed in the corner of the room, haha.

Though, I enjoyed the scene because there is nothing better than having a coffee and snoop session early in the morning. I wonder how Death with dangle this information before her?

This chapter does a great job at taking those warm feelings from the last chapter and dashing them against the rocks. It’s heartbreaking seeing this character, made to be human, slowly stripped once more of her humanity. That feeling of struggle, strain and hope to find a cure to the one thing that cannot be cured. It was amazing and very well conveyed.

I can almost feel the insanity after the loss of her love and only child. It was so beautiful and tragic. Great job! You’ve made me, a hypochondriac, a fan of pestilence.

I really enjoyed the range of this chapter. You start out with this monster who doesn’t believe she has the capability of having humanity. She refers to Death and Famine as human while she and War are these manufactured eternal ‘things’. And then, over time, she builds this humanity. Experiences her own form of humanity, motherhood, and love. She grows as a being and becomes so tender. It is a beautiful thing to see and does well to give Pestilence this kind nature that endears the reader to her. Great job!
