Color me wholly impressed with your analysis! This is probably one of the longest, if not the longest written insight I've seen in a while! I'm not gonna lie, it feels great when a 1-chapter story can fill a reader's head with all sorts of things. Usually, I need a story arc several chapters long to accomplish that! XD

I said it before, but this is the first time for me to publish a written work online in first-person so I hope I at least did a decent job. I also deviated from my usual writing style by not including dialogue as well as doing almost everything in present tense. It was a fun break from the way I usually roll, but I'm uncertain if I'd want to do it again.

You've pretty much nailed it in deciphering how Hiromi's narration style showcases her personality. I wanted her to narrate in such a way that it just seethes with her like she's standing atop a high horse. That's why I made her narrate it like she was speaking with an English accent. It's just me, but that accent just sounds so high class! Take note, she's got some uncommon words thrown into the mix! XD

Since I originally read the rules for the Honeyfeed Halloween event as the spookiest story you could think off, obviously, I needed something scary. At first, I brainstormed for what monster scares me the most, but I decided to drop that because I honestly find it hard to get scared when I read about monsters in worded text. That's when I decided that my horror factor will be humanity's darkside and an intelligent child who could take advantage of what should normally be naivete came along! And yeah, I believe that we all wanted the world to revolve around us at some point and that our happiness was the most important thing ever, so I'm glad you found that to be relatable!

With this being a one-shot with not much time for planning to secure any loose ends, I was surprised that you'd compare Hiromi with Johan. I've never watched or read Monster, but I often hear from others that Johan is one of the scariest humans with no special abilities to ever exist, so thanks for that!

Lastly, it looks like you were on the same page as me when it came to this story bearing messages. A story that can give moral lessons indirectly to my reader is a skill that I definitely want to master. It's not like every part of my stories have that, but I don't always like to simply write plot without trying to convey a message one way or another!

And that last part of your comment... I'm flattered. Thank you very much, and I hope you'll also be looking forward to more from "Parable of the Renegades!" ;)
