I think I see what Kohei's angle is with Mino Ruri now. But for full clarity, it might be good to alter the wording from "cast my own deplorable vote" to the more specific "forecast my own deplorable vote". The idea of 'casting a vote' comes with connotations of finality, so for a moment it sounds like Koehi has maybe committed to dooming Mino.
So Watanabe is a proper slimeball. I get this moment is a survival moment for Kohei, and I totally get his wanting the sweet revenge of surviving now & getting Watanabe dismissed later. But I can't help but wonder: he's a piece of work, yeah, but isn't the system which promotes such sociopathic behavior the real villain. Therein lies some social commentary, but what I'm wondering is what Kohei might do about it.
Is the school just too big for Kohei, so he has to settle for another fish roughly his size? That would be dark, the school could be argued to have won if Kohei gets Watanabe expelled—Kitazawa would have stripped away Kohei's kindness.
If Kohei can see past his anger, the real galaxy brain move might be to expel the school & system out from under Watanabe. But how to achieve that?
Just some thoughts.
Looking forward to hearing what Emi has to say, and discovering how far rogue she's gone and is about to go.
