I will take the time to admit right now that I dislike fantasy plots. I usually continue reading out of politeness, but your prose really held my attention throughout! I really enjoyed your writing, and the conversations felt natural (even if slightly dramatic). But that was the intended effect, and you achieved it well.
I love that you do not treat the reader as an idiot, and instead hit them with the fantasy tropes from the get-go without explanation, such as Mythril armor, or mana, or the Demon Lord. A lot of stories get bogged down in explaining these things in-universe. This may just be a side effect that you're doing a reverse-isekai, but I still think it warrants praise!
Speaking of reverse-isekais, it's a very interesting premise. I initially thought you were setting up for a flashback, but what you actually accomplished was ten times better. What happens to a person after they're done with their journey?
Eventually, the Hero must return, as that ends the plot of the Hero's Journey.
