I think this just shows that a real, universal TRUTH only applies to a few selective cases. A mathematical equation and laws of nature maybe ... even though there are exceptions as well.
But for things like the trolley problem there IS NO TRUTH. You can just define a truth and postulate that this is the right solution, but in the end it will only be one single and subjective truth. There will be people disagreeing and have their own truth.
Even Makoto's opinion and belief in the TRUTH is just his own personal truth and Kono for example has is own and different truth. In the end there is no real TRUTH.
There are just rock steady opinions about the earth being flat or the earth being spherical or whatever else there is. And people don't care what you say or what facts you deliver if they believe. They will close their eyes and lay on the floor kicking their legs, but they will not accept other opinions. They will not accept that the other side might have a point.
If their world is flat, it will be flat and if it is round it will be round. These believes are part of people's identity. It just takes events that shake their beliefs and life to their foundation to change anything about their personal truth. I just hope that such an event will happen to Makoto and he will see that infallibility does not exist. But I am very certain that something like this will happen 😁
