You know, *I'd* like to know what a class rep does. The position seems to vary, depending on the story. In anime and manga, I've seen class reps do everything from picking up test papers to leading full-on mecha assaults. I'm hoping Miieie's job won't be the latter.😀

Ah, so Joseph decides to become empathetic? It's interesting that he seems to grow a conscience about the same time that Pyro justifies hardening hers. Interesting juxtaposition! But maybe she won't be so fast to dump his body in the river now. 😀

Thanks! We'll see more of Keenan in the next chapter, too. He's kind of like someone's idea of how a proper, well-dressed gentleman should look and act. But with a little more time (and a few more pages!) I hope to bring more of his backstory to light. 😀
And yes, the "future husband" theme will reappear. It's too good to pass up. 😀

What an excellent chapter! The action, the storytelling, was paced really well! And the sentences seem to flow seamlessly from one to the next.
I loved the part where Pyro wants to check her rings to see if any stones fell out -- in the middle of a fight! 😆
The fact that she's seriously considering shooting a minor in cold blood gives a little more insight into Pyro's somewhat chilling personality, and makes the character all the more realistic given her background.😱

I'm glad you liked it! 😄This chapter was actually the first part of one I had to split in half since it was too long (the second half is coming Monday). It's also the first time I mention World War Three as a Big Event in Peterson's background -- something that was a distinct possibility in the "real" 1980's.😨

I think Pyro should just double-tap good 'ol Joseph in the head. If they saw what a slob he was, no jury in the world would convict her. Is it really worth 50k to put up with that guy?
Somehow, I knew going to her apartment was going to be a bad idea. 😀Interesting to see Pyro's powers emerging a little more, too. Can't wait to see the outcome of the gunfight, and the next chapter! 👍👍

BTW, "Tama"(玉 or "ball") is/was a common name for house cats in Japan. Once I found that out, I absolutely had to name Aiko's panther "Tama."😼

It figures Walmart would survive into the future. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up owning everything in the year the story is set. 😀

Peterson's good for comedy relief, to be sure! Most cyberpunk tends to be dark and gritty but I thought I'd try a lighter approach. There's still some serious action coming up, though. And yes, we'll see more of the panther! 😀😀

Yeah, and Peterson felt like a "bad guy" after the match. I hinted earlier that he might have some self-control issues, and you can see that he's horrified at the outcome of the fight. But Aiko is made of teflon-reinforced Kevlar. She shrugs it off and turns it into a "bonding" opportunity. We'll see more of her next chapter, coming this Friday.
