Due to the black death. Maybe "plague doctor" would ring a better bell to you? Those used during the bubonic plague and that sometimes appear in games spreading rat poison to counter whatever fantasy plague is in place.

There's no plague around, but it's better safe than sorry when messing with rats...

Okie! Finally reached the volume end. Quite the decent story you have there, even if I feel that you left that first part with the outlanders underused. The characters are fun and most fights flow quite well, so nothing to complain about here.

I see you've been affected by the deadline though. The last few chapters went a little too fast for comfort, but there's little to be done about that. You should take a pass to correct mistakes after the judging period is over though. Some wrong words and mixed use of [ and " here and there...

I would probably read a continuation if it ever came to be.
