Interesting perspective!
Well, no, Makoto was not aware of it being broadcasted. The implication was given when I wrote about his reaction to seeing the footage. He also didn't say to his brother that he was aware of this either. Tatsuya also basically chides Makoto for not reading anything he signs, to which Makoto's reply is a playfully defensive joke. (Given that at the start of the book he quite literally didn't read enough to know any of this would happen in the first place, so, he clearly would not have read enough to know this footage would have been broadcasted either.)
I think maybe his brother asking him if Kimiko was aware of it and Makoto being startled was the piece that might have given the impression to you that he was guilty. I do feel as though I gave enough context clues to infer, though, that he was worried about her rather than guilty, but, it is good to keep other perspectives in mind and I appreciate your feedback. ^^
Tatsuya's comment is rather nuisanced on purpose, it's true. It is an allusion to Makoto's typical lifestyle without implicitly stating what that is. It's to hopefully give the reader a sense of curiosity and insight into his life. Makoto is a man who doesn't typically break up with women right away if he's attracted to them. The rest of the conclusions that can be drawn from that are left open for explaination for later.
