The two people below me seem confused, but I have a guess on what's going on.
I believe that Amahiko is trying to lead her on in some way. He's trying to incite curiosity in her by not being straight to the point. This would cause Ria to increase her interest in what he has to say, which then leads to her increasing her efforts in trying to pursue him. The greater the effort, the harder it would be to back out. And because she is curious, giving up on following Amahiko would only leave a lingering unpleasant feeling of not being able to figure it out.
In short, she is being manipulated through the exploitation of her curiosity.
