It's pretty realistic for me in a way. Taking little steps is probably the best way to grow as a person and get out of your shell. It won't be easy, which is why you should do things in the form of tests, like what Ai is doing. But the more you test your limits, the more I believe that you will have a chance to break your limits.
Now that she's facing Maia in the next chapter, this would be a chance for her breakthrough.
But, it's fine if something goes wrong. The journey to evolve is never easy. Even if we fall down the steps, at least we'll be stronger than we were from the beginning.
This is Ai's evolution.
Btw, the monster descriptions are really unsettling. It makes so much sense why Ai would be afraid to look up. It honestly sounds scary to me.
