Not sure which is more cruel. To physically beat someone and isolate them in a room or to manipulate their free will. Both are terrible options, but for Pyro I guess she prefers the first. The ends justify the means, I guess?
Pyro definitely cares about all of the cyborgs if she's still trying to work hard to destroy the company imprisoning them.
I guess the fact that she has to constantly remind herself of who she is, shows that she's slowly losing her sanity from doing things she doesn't want to do for two years straight.
